Support circle

Many working women in my culture find it challenging to find the right support group.

I live in London and have been working full time for 11+ years now. I am a high achieving individual and do not enjoy lazy days at work. Lately, I have been struggling with a sense of identity. Readers may think, she’s complaining. Mothers face this more than anyone else as their children grow up. I disagree.

Women with strong cultural backgrounds really struggle with this, children or no children. I find that trying to fit in my culture as well as my drive to be successful can sometimes be emotionally exhausting at times because I get no time to stop and do what I used to enjoy the most, read.

Every time I feel lost, I find solace in my girlfriends. I should find more ways to give them credit for they do for me. Unintentionally!

I am very fortunate to have a strong support circle of 3 friends/cousins who don’t let me drown. I can call them at anytime. I can see them anytime. I can go most places with them. Although organising a casual breakfast can sometimes take months. Lol

They keep me sane. They help me vent. They cheer me up. They are my true blessings amongst others! I love you all with all my heart…
